         Assisted Suicide    In China many years ago, a mother of terminally ill her son required practice euthanasia. Then the man was sued for the crime of homicide case by procuratorial organs, and the Supreme People’s court adjudicated him acquittal. Later the man advanced gastric cancer and he required assisted suicide, but his required was refused. Since the event has happened, Chinese people argued whether China should practice assisted suicide. And people also talked about whether China should build laws about actualizing assisted suicide; although someone strongly agreed with practiced assisted suicide, people still considered Chinese social security system was not good enough which could not guaranteed execution the action success. There were few countries to legalize euthanasia, and those countries had strict and detailed requirements for that. This prevented doctors to kill patients or hospital cover up medical negligence. However, even in perfect legal system countries such as America those measures cannot assure that there are not “devil doctors”. On the other hand, portion of people considered assisted suicide that was better choice for terminally illness patients. They paid attention on the point the assisted suicide could make no painful to die. Now, we got both side’s opinions, from the square side, some part of people are willing to accept assisted suicide, there are three reasons: first, people say life is private personal stuff, so people absolutely can choose death that also is human’s right. Second, government gives enough intendance then practice assisted suicide will operate success. Third, people should respect personal’s choice and follow patient’s willing that is humane, and this helps family to get free of money’s pressures. That is my opinion also; I think assisted suicide can reduce painful for patient, which is important point. From the anti-side, a number of people think should not practice assisted suicide, for: at first, life belongs to community, but not belong to individuals. Then, assisted suicide might be used by people who attempt to misdemeanor, because the supervisory agency can not ensure per case’s every steps are inerrant. Finally, the anti-side defines assisted suicide which is a selfish act, and this kind of action will cause painful for relatives that is not humane. At the following paragraphs, I will clarify anti-side’s opinions which do not agree with practice assisted suicide, and I will defend for my opinions which favor assisted suicide.   

      The anti-side’s first reason for objection assisted suicide which they consider the people’s life belongs to community, not belong to individuals. Virtually, they think the people’s life defines persons’ meaning in social. People should be responsible for community; they should be responsible for relatives, and they also should be responsible for themselves. People are not alone; they can not give up live rashly. There are still relatives desiring people’s concern. It is rash behavior of taking assisted suicide that would hurt relatives. People should face the situation bravely instead of hiding. In addition, the medical sciences are improving step by step; people must keep hopes for surviving. From the other hand, the square side, they favor assisted suicide which they think people’s life belongs to individuals, people have right to decide their life and death issues. I have to say I agree with square side’s opinion. Every counties appeal people should have human rights instead of autocracy. Within the framework of law people can do whatever they want, I think that include decide to die. Some people define assisted suicide as rash behavior and irresponsible action. That is disguised form of behavior restriction. Suppose if people have no rights to do whatever they want within the framework of law, which is autocracy. I think decide death issue that is essential human right, which is personal affair. This is not hurt society interests, and it is benefit for society interests. It is one way to reduce social pressure. I do not believe personal death issue relating to society interests. Society will not go to pieces just because one person died that is incredible. No one will believe that kind of statement. Furthermore, patients take assisted suicide which does not mean irresponsible, rash behavior. Depending on relatives do not want patients suffering so much painful you can not say that is giving up life. Actually, this is reflection of humanity. Oppositely, people inhibit patients taking assisted suicide, standing ailment, spending expensive treatment, and watching relatives anxious; there are not humanity, this is torture and hurt. I can not believe people want to do the shameful things. I have to say I strongly agree with practice assisted suicide.   

     When people talk about some things instead of doing that is really easy. For practice assisted suicide is also difficult to do. In my opinions, if government sets enough supervisory authorities to watch each other that will help practice assisted suicide success. We should arrange professional custodians to control the process to guarantee all steps correctly. These are the most important steps. For the people who object assisted suicide they think setting supervisory authorities that will not work because Chinese law system is not perfect. Even in American which country has perfect law system does not make assisted suicide legal because people afraid of someone who will use it to get other ulterior motives. Such as “devil doctors”, few hospitals will kill patients to cover up the medical malpractice; certain doctors will kill patients to gain organs selling them; and some doctors will us e died bodies from patients to do experiments. These situations will prevent assisted suicide operation smoothly. There are too many people, and that will not easy to control.   

      For the last reason which is the most important reason to defend my opinion about favor assisted suicide. I think follow patients’ opinions and respect patients’ willing that are significant keys. Maybe those kinds of people are patients but they are human first. They do have rights for what they want to do, and what they want to choose. Therefore, they do have right to choose assisted suicide to reduce painful. The other people should respect patients’ choice and willing instead of stopping them to do some things. Moreover, practice assisted suicide that will help family to save money. I think if the patients decide to practice assisted suicide then they can donate organs to make money for family. I know that sounds like inhumane but it is really effective. And that really help patients decreasing painful. Patients donate their organs not only helps family to get free of money’s pressure but makes more chance for other patients who need transplanting organs. In China, there are more than thousands patients need surgery of transplanting organs, but hospitals have not enough organs to transplant. Due to this reason, patients died one by one; and people can not do anything for that. I have to say people should really follow patients’ opinions and willing. On the other hand, the antis think practice assisted suicide that is kind of murder although patients are willing. People should not allow doctors to practice assisted suicide, which is rash and irresponsible behavior. And the point is the patients just pay attention on their painful, they ignore the relatives’ painful. Those patients are too selfish they even do not care other people’s feeling. The relatives do not want patients to die they hope patients stay as long as they can. People consider the medical sciences are advanced and improving every day. People should not lose hope for doctors and sciences. Especially patients themselves should believe doctors can help them. People take assisted suicide that will cause too much painful for relatives. In addition, making money by donation organs that will make relatives feeling guilt, not reduce pressure. So some people said practice assisted suicide that was selfish and rash behavior.      

      From these reasons, I have to say I favor practice assisted suicide. We know life belongs to individuals and people can control their life to make best choice. Not only people can control their life but we should follow patients’ opinions and willing, which is kind of respect for people. And practice assisted suicide government should give enough surveillance that would help it operates achievement. For now, lots of people object assisted suicide because they can not stand died relatives’ bodies separated. In the future, I believe there are more and more people will favor assisted suicide.  

I will talk about prostitution . Maybe someone will say people should make prostitution legal because that could reduce women be raped. And that would help poor women to make money. On the other side. part of people think we can not make prostitution legal because women are hunman not tools for making money. And women have rights. people should respect them instead of treating women as prostitutes. I have to say I agree with that people should make prostitution illegal. first I am a female. second. the prostitution legal that is harmful to women. women have rights. if people allow prostitution is legal that means men treat women as a tool not human being.and which is unfair. In addition. prostitution will danger women’s safeness some bad people will push women to be prostitutes. And women also need normal life not to be prostitutes to make money. So I am against that makes prostitution legal.

 I think the pollution, gender discrimination, or resource constraints might be talked more by people because people need resources to live, and people can not live with pollution that push people to die. Those are important for people, also people can not live well if they have unfair status, such as discrimination. people need others’ respect, which benefit for society’s development and security, I think unfair’s status that can cause people’s mental disease.

I am so exciting, nest week my roommates and me will have a  party for Halloween. And I am gonna dress up to be a princess. That is my first time to dress up. I can not wait, but may be I will miss it because I have a class from 5 o’clock to 6:50. It is so sad for me. My roommates will bring some beautiful clothes for me to dress up which is wonderful. I hope school to give us a day to binge.

what a mess! I have so much work to do about grammar. I want to do it from primary grammar, but I have not much time to do all of them. I need to decide which I should review it frist. I do it avid, and hope I can know grammar good. That’s not gonna happen. I am aware of that I need to do it step by step. Therefore, on last wednesday I review the preposition: at, on and in. I feel much better than before. On this week, I will work on the present tense. By the way, I should review adjective clause, I do not want to get low score any more.

 I’m always afraid of writing essay, because I can not write a whole right sentence. Even though I check it, there still have much more mistakes. And also there are much problem about my sentences structure. Every time Steven told me my grammar and sentences were horrible that made me dispirited. Sometimes, I really hate English, why do I need to learn English,why do I need to graduate from foreign university? I want to throw out the bookes all about English which books make me angry. I do not know why I learn grammar carefully and it seems like there is nothing that I get. I still make grammar mistake. It is so sad for me. Someone told me if I want to write a good essay I need to read 100 essaies which wrote from foreign people. May be that is a good way to improve my writing.

                     Effect of reducing class size In China, there are more than 60 students in a class. Every class has so many students that make teachers difficult to control those students. And teachers have no more time to pay attention for special students who want to learn more or have problems about what they learned. Meanwhile, teachers can not help students about themselves question because there are too many students. Therefore, to reduce class size that would be a great way to change those situations.     

To reduce class size that improves class’s condition. First, if the class’s size is smaller than before that will be easier to control for teacher. In China, the class has 2 or 3 times population than American due to Chinese has large numbers of population. For this reason, a teacher has to take care of nearly 70 students that is a big challenge. The teacher could not pay attention for every single student, and the teacher has other things. He or she can not deal with those two things together that is impossible. The teacher also has mission about teaching, and if the teacher just work on students’ problem he or she will not accomplish the mission. For example, in my primary school, our class had 75 students, and the teacher in charge our class, she taught us English. She always could not accomplish her annual teaching mission, for my class had a mass of students and they always had kinds of question about English. And the teacher needed to solve these problems. Furthermore, she should make sure that her students understood what she taught, but there was no more time to review it. Consequently, the teacher spent more on the old point in stead of the new point. If most students did not understand that she would prepare and teach the point again. Those things out of her control, so school reduces the class’s size which is a good method to improve these situations.    

Reducing class’s size is benefit for students and teachers. Because of teachers have much time to take care of students. The teachers can spend much time on the special students and work on students’ problems. They pay attention for the students who want to learn more or can not understand the indistinct point. Hence, the students will learn very well. In addition, due to there are few students in a class, teachers could have communication with students. Thus, students could ask some question about themselves and get the answers from teachers. This is good for students’ growing up. For instance, in some prosperous areas of China, schools actualize the system of small size class. The teachers said they had much time to pay attention for those students who had talent; as a result, those kinds of student could learn more and fast. Due to a class has few students, the teachers could have communication with their students. Teachers helped students solved some problems about psychological by communication. And teachers thought that really helped students grew up.

  I think that is very good. Because students will get the teachers’ attention. Then students have some problems who will get the teachers’ help directly. That would be a great for students studying. Meanwhile, the teachers could have less work to do. They could pay attention carefully on a students, and they have much times to teach students  other things. Because they do not need to take care of much more students, so I think reducing the class size that would have a good effect.

    I’m a 20-year-old girl. I come from China; I lived in China for 19 years and I was born in Xinjiang, where is a beautiful place. My hometown seems like countryside, and there is no pollution. You can breathe fresh air; you can see the white clouds and blue sky, but my hometown is not modern city.I have been in Mt.pleasant for half a year since I came here on January of this year. I have to say I like this place; it is similar with my hometown. Here it is so quiet, and all of the people are nice. When you meet the foreign people whom will smile to you. However, there is one problem which perplex me: why do the foreigner students expose their ass at everywhere. Now I am taking two level -4 classes and two academic classes. These classes are not difficult for me yet, because I learned these classes in my country.

I like violin, and I learned that for 3 years. Unfortunately, I could not keep practicing it. It was tough for me, because I needed more time to play when I was a child. For now, I’m a quiet person; I often stay at home alone. And usually I’m afraid of making friends with people. When I talk to somebody I feel uncomfortable. I feel my face turn red; I feel nervous and my knees are shaking. I do mot know what to say when I meet somebody, and this is reason why I have few friends. Also, another reason is that my words are too direct. That would hurt somebody. My memory is not good. I always forget to do something, and it makes a lot of trouble for me.

ELI 084 – Journal Assignment #1

1.  Describe in detail one piece of writing that you have done in English.  It could be a class assignment, a letter, a story, etc.  Tell me the process that you used in writing it; in other words, how did you go about the task?  Then tell me what you enjoyed about it and what was difficult.  Remember to explain why.

when I came to America, I just learned how to write a essay. And David was my first writing teacher. He was really tough. From his way I learned that in a essay, it has introduction, body, and conclusion. And we need thesis statement, topic sentence, main point, supporting details, explanation, examples and conclusion sentence. I followed this way to write an essay, and David would help me to write it better. I would say I like writing conclusion, which is means I will finish the essay. I think writing supporting details is much more difficult for me. I have to organize it, and I must find it suitable.

2.  Do you enjoy writing in your native language?  Why or why not?  What do you write in your native language?

No, it is not interesting. I wrote composition.

3.  Have you ever kept a diary or journal?  Explain.

No, I can not keep it. And I think there are not many things to write. I just wrote something about my feeling during I felt I was hurt.

4.  What do you feel is the most important thing you want to learn from this class?

I want to write an essay that like American native people writing essay.  For now, I felt my essay was like an children’s words with horrible grammar.
